Food excellent. Best Cuban sandwich since I was in Miami. Checked on us quite often. Keep it up.
We arrived at Sabor de Cuba with a large group and a dog but they were able to accommodate us for outside seating. We were also happy to see that they were able to meet vegetarian and vegan options for friends we were dining with. I tried the camarones enchiladas with fried plantains, rice and beans. My husband tried the cubano sandwich and my son had the picadillo meal with, rice and yuca. Overall I think we all enjoyed our meals, which showcased a different flavor profile in each. Mine was shrimp in tomato sauce with peppers and onions which I enjoyed dipping the plantains into. My son raved about the flavor in the picadillo and the garlic mojo over the yuca.
The food. The staff. Everything. It was our first time in and I love Cuban food. I tried the papa rellenas and it was sooo delicious! I've never had it with sauce on the side and just when I thought it couldn't get better...WOW. The portions are generous and the guava juice is soooo fresh! Highly recommend and can't wait to come back!
Food was tasty I think I'm just used to Mexican being Mexican lol! The pollo a la plancha was super limey and fresh and everything came out fast and super hot! The girls working were super nice and helpful and we had water constantly which we definitely needed bc we came from a hike and were drinking water so fast! Pretty venue it's just a little small so I would expect a wait if you are walking in. The tostones were my fav part so so so yummy and perfect texture! Def try if you're wanting to try Cuban (:
Very cute and cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The price is reasonable and food is good. Especially recommend Sizzling shrimps, it's perfectly cooked!
We went to this low key spot after a local race. My cousin in law comes here regularly and highly recommended it. We had a variety of dishes all came with rice, beans and plantanos. The variation is in the style of meat and how it's cooked. The empanadas were amazing. I really enjoyed the outer layer and the savoriness of the inside. I forgot to take pictures of our meals. We were so hungry and immediately started eating when our food arrived lol. The service was quick. We added multiple items to our bill after the initial intake and they were very accommodating.
If you're craving an authentic Cuban meal but cannot make it to Havana or Miami, look no further as Sabor de Cuba got you covered. Their cubano sandwiches are best this side of the Atlantic and a simple dish of arroz con pollo will get your picky eater all smiling again. Don't skimp on drinks and order pretty much everything. I really liked their Painkiller cocktail. If you still have room for desert, ask for flam or tres leches; both are mouth watering. Their staff are super nice!
On a recent date night in the town of Frederick, we were excited to try one of their many restaurants. Our show was at the Weinberg Center for the Arts so we strolled down Patrick Street to find a cute bar. We had a choice between Italian or Cuban. We went with Cuban based on the many 4-5 stars. The bar was super cute, about 8 seats. Our server was new but he did try. He didn't know much about the food and also didn't know much about the wines. He did make a delicious Mojito. Hubby enjoyed his Cuban sandwich but we thought weird that it didn't come with a side, not a chip or a salad. That sandwich was $12. I ordered what I thought was yucca chips but instead the server said it was the tostones($5). They reminded me of bland potato cakes. Not something I would order again.
Cute tiki hut decor! My husband and I dined in. We enjoyed a very spicy margarita and a pineapple mojito. We shared the beef empanadas, ropa vieja with friend plantains and a side of tostones. Very good with the sauce. Our server was very smiley and had good energy. Close walk to the parking garage or a walk down the creek.
